What can I expect once I start the Combined Antibiotic Protocol?

Individual responses are varied; you can expect anything ranging from mild MS symptoms to a severe flu like response such as a runny nose and eyes, as well as muscle and joint pain. Many experience dizziness when first starting the Combined Antibiotic Protocol, which generally eases after six months or so. Not only this, but a flare up of previously noted MS symptoms may occur. The reason for this is due to endotoxin release as a consequence of bacteria death – also known as ‘Herxing’ or the ‘Herxheimer Reaction’.

The Herxheimer Reaction is present when the rate of bacteria break down exceeds the rate of excretion of waste. This experience may be frightening initially, lasting days/weeks/months – and may well resemble a pseudo-relapse (symptoms with medication dose, but no new MRI activity). Others may not experience reactions at all during treatment with pronounced reduction of symptoms; some people report improvements in brain fog and fatigue.
